Gracie Heinig's Remarks
ASAPROSAR operates 10 different pre-schools which are called the Nucleos Program.
On our last day in Santa Ana, many of us returned to the Barefoot Angels program
We collected handprints on the banners prepared by the Sunday School kids here in Brunswick.
We also helped organize a market where the kids could use points that they had earned for good behavior to buy some of the things that we had brought on the airplane from Maine.
We set up displays of shoes, toys, and school supplies.
The poorest children who were most in need went first.
The oldest kids went last.
All of the kids had enough points to buy something; and many had enough points to buy lots of items. They were very excited. We sold lots of shoes and toys.
It was interesting to see that the oldest kids were most interested in buying school supplies.
We also played with the children.
They were happy to have us visit.
