The Fun Raiser generated $20,000!
The success of the Fun Raiser depended on the hard work and generosity of members of the Congregation. First thank you to everyone who donated auction items and who bid on auction items. What a fun display of talents and generosity! Our Fun Raiser Committee was great and deserves congratulations for a job well done. The Committee was: Ed Bradley, Jim Drake, Sally Hartikka, Elizabeth Henderson, Rob Jarratt, Nancy Lougee, Gerry Orem, Juley Salisbury, Mike Salisbury, and Susan Zimmermann.
Special thanks to Gerry Orem who spearheaded the design and layout of the auction and recruited volunteers for auction duties. She was always planning for the next step and was invaluable. Thanks to Sally Hartikka who singlehandedly organized, produced and distributed the written publicity including the poster. Mike Salisbury was great at uploading any auction information that we wanted onto the First Parish website. He and Juley designed the donor form and the poster. Thanks to Ruth Thibodeau for embarrassing herself in front of the congregation on several Sundays to advertise the auction. Thanks to Joy Johnson and Susan Zimmermann for planning special snacks at every coffee hour during the auction. Thank you to Jane Primmer and the entire Hospitality Committee for helping us with the special snacks and coffee hour.
Thanks also are extended to Skip Orem whose muscle and handyman skills were used for auction security and set up. Thank you to Jane Connors for advice and scheduling help. Thank you to the folder/mailers who had quite a job collating, folding and labeling the catalogs for mailing: Nancy Lougee, Nancy Hoffman, Joan Laws, Betty Littlefield, Edna Stoddard, Elaine Carlson, Betsy Clough and Pam Colucci and Warren Hoffman, who did not collate but took the mailing to the post office.
Thank you to volunteers at the auction: the committee (see above), Charlotte Ingersoll, Marsha Lamarre, Pam Lambert, Carol Schneidewind, Ruth Thibodeau, Elaine and Ron Kurtz. Thank you to Rob Rowe who was extremely helpful throughout the entire four-week period that the auction disrupted the Fellowship Hall. Thank you to Susan Fitzgerald who worked around the auction. Thank you to the Church Staff for devoting most of a staff meeting to the logistics of a large auction during the month of May.
P.S. And DODIE JONES! MANY THANKS TO YOU, TOO!!
