FPC Launches Habitat Faith Build Fundraising

February 1, 2016

In the last six months, members of First Parish Church, a Habitat for Humanity “Covenant Church”, have been working with ecumenical partners and others from our Brunswick community to complete a house for Christina Colon and her family: her son, 17, and daughter, 11. Teams have gathered to build walls, hang flashing, install mailboxes, and generally help make a home as part of Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers’s Hope Lane, a new development of four houses for those in need of a “hand up” into home ownership.

Now, the church is hoping to build on this wonderful experience of creating “sanctuary” for one of our neighbors by raising $15,000 to complete the finances of the build. Throughout the season of Lent, we are challenging ourselves to celebrate the abundant feeling of home—of sanctuary—here in our community by giving towards the Colon family’s future home in Brunswick with us.

Donations may be given through our E-Giving page or sent to the church office with “Habitat” on the memo line of your check. Your funds help make “home” possible! Some great suggestions for giving levels include:
$200 – Open Doors
$75 – Windows On…
$35 – Roofing Shingles
$15 – 5lb Nails

Any gift helps us build on faith as a church in the community caring for our neighbors!
