Our goal in Church School is that each child knows how fully and unconditionally he/she is loved by God and to explore ways to respond to that love and share it in this time and place.
Summer Sundays – June 20 – Sept 5, 2010
Nursery care is available for 2 year olds and younger in Pilgrim House.
All children age 3 and older begin the morning in worship with their families.
After the children’s moment, parents bring children entering 3rd grade and younger across the street to the Pilgrim House playground, where an adult will lead them in games, crafts, stories and gardening. (Parents may stay or return to worship).
Children entering 4th grade and older stay in church. We have a bookrack, drawing supplies and children’s bulletins.
The 2010-11 Church School Year begins on Sept 12th!
Come to a Family Orientation after church in Fellowship Hall for refreshments and new information. Church School is held at 10:00, concurrent with worship. Classes are in Pilgrim House, the brick building on Cleaveland Street, diagonally behind the church.
Drop off Infants through Kindergarteners before church in Pilgrim House
Nursery - For children ages 2 and younger. Jocelyn Kohler is our professional caregiver.
Preschool Class (3 & 4 year olds) and Kindergarten Class - have a brief chapel time, then they have Bible stories, crafts, games & music, and snack (using Whole People of God curriculum).
First Graders and older begin in church - then come to Pilgrim House following the Children's Moment. We will use The Whole People of God- Online curriculum this year. The lessons follow the same Bible readings the adults hear in church (the lectionary), and have a fun mixture of activities, crafts and games.
1st and 2nd grade classes - meet downstairs in Pilgrim House.
3rd, 4th, 5th grade classes - meet in various rooms upstairs.
6th & 7th Grade Class – Meets in the Chapel of Pilgrim House. We will focus on living out our faith in the world around us, and building community in this pre-confirmation year.
High School Students - Youth Group for 9th-12th grade meets on 1st & 3rd Sunday evenings.
