Baptisms and Communion

Baptism is a sacrament in which we use water to celebrate God’s love for the person being baptized and we promise to love, support, and care for one another as we follow in the way of Jesus.

If you are interested in baptism for yourself or your child but are not a part of our community, we invite you to come and worship with us and get to know us. Since baptism includes the promises of the person/family and the congregation together, we need to know one another before we can make those promises.

Confirmation is the program for youth (beginning at 7th or 8th grade) in which they explore their own journey of faith through a variety of activities with the pastors, the other youth, their parents, and adult mentors. At the end of the program if they wish to confirm their baptisms and say yes to being a part of the church, they may choose to participate in a ritual of confirmation. If they have not been previously baptized they may be baptized at that time.

Communion is a sacrament in which we share bread and cup as a remembrance of the life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth and as an embodiment of Christ’s ongoing presence in our world. We celebrate an open table, where people of all ages are welcome to participate at their own spiritual discretion.
