Vision & Mission

To encourage individuals and families to exercise good stewardship in planning for their future by executing and updating a will and/or trust, and benefit the endowment for present and future ministries of First Parish Church through either an outright gift, life income gift, or bequest.

Planned Giving

Why make a planned gift?

You can direct your assets to the people and causes dear to your heart

It gives you a warm feeling in your heart

Some planned gifts provide you with income

Some planned gifts reduce taxes for you and your loved ones

Some Methods of Planned Gifts:

Charitable Gift Annuity

Gift of Valuables (antiques, art objects, jewelry, painting, etc.)

Gift of Real Estate

Gift of Securities

Gift of Life Insurance

The First Parish Church Endowment Funds are administered by professional money managers.

ENDOWMENT FUNDS

Endowment Funds are monies that are permanently set aside and invested.  A calculated percentage of the endowment funds are made available annually to First Parish Church to support all aspects of the life and mission of the congregation.

Unrestricted Endowment Funds are the most beneficial for the church because the income can be designated by the church’s leaders to meet pressing needs in a timely fashion in any given year.

Restricted Endowment Funds are those whose earnings are dedicated to specific needs and programs.

  • The Meetinghouse Fund supports maintenance of the church’s historic building and facilities.
  • The Music Fund supports the church’s multiple music programs.
  • The fund for supporting Spirituality, Christian Education, and Outreach.

The church carefully manages these endowment funds. If you wish to receive a copy of the church’s endowment policy, please contact us at 207-729-7331.

TESTIMONIAL

“We learned that by organizing the distribution of your estate, regardless of size, you avoid unwanted distribution of any money and property. If not, it could cause needless damage to relationships between people and within families. We also realized that by remembering FPC, we will enable our fellow parishioners to help both people of many walks of life, and other service organizations.”
